The Kōbai no Tantō, meaning “Tantō of the Red Plum Blossom”, represents beauty in resilience — the courage to bloom even in the harshest winter. Its radiant red scabbard, decorated with delicate plum blossoms, embodies life, elegance, and strength reborn.

Forged from T10 high-carbon steel and polished to reveal a natural hamon, this tanto blends fine artistry with cutting precision. The golden copper fittings, sculpted with galloping horses, symbolize vitality, freedom, and forward motion — the unstoppable energy of spring returning.

SPECIFICATIONS

Blade Hand-forged T10 steel with a real hamon line, showcasing the blade’s differential hardening and mirror-polished finish. The edge embodies the perfect balance between sharpness and durability.
Tsuba (Hand Guard) Exquisite copper tsuba featuring sculpted horse motifs in high relief. Each curve captures movement and strength, echoing the untamed spirit of nature.
Equipment Complete set of copper fittings (fuchi, kashira, koiguchi) with gold accents, detailed engravings, and smooth hand finishing that enhance both balance and beauty.
Handle (Tsuka) Wooden core wrapped in deep red ito over white samegawa (ray skin). Golden menuki peek through, adding brilliance and harmony to the design.
Scabbard (Saya) Gloss red lacquer saya hand-painted with blooming ume (plum) flowers and black branch motifs. A matching red-and-white silk saya obi completes the refined presentation.
