DESCRIPTION

The 赤龍 — Akaryū Katana is named for the red dragon, the auspicious guardian of fire and strength in East Asian legend. The theme lives in the saya: a deep crimson lacquer carved in raised relief, where a sinuous dragon winds through rolling clouds along the entire length of the scabbard. The hand-finished surface shifts in the light, so each piece carries its own character.

The blade is forged from high-carbon T10 steel and clay-tempered to draw out a soft, cloudy hamon down the edge. Mirror-polished to a bright finish, it offers the keen cutting performance and shock resistance that have made T10 a favourite among practitioners and collectors alike.

Warm copper fittings carry the dragon motif from the habaki to the guard, their reddish glow echoing the crimson of the saya. The tsuka is wrapped in black ito over genuine white samegawa rayskin, grounding the fiery koshirae with a clean, classic grip and a confident balance in the hand.

Full-tang and built to the same exacting standards as every blade in this line, the 赤龍 — Akaryū Katana is a collector's statement first and a cutter second. Available sharpened or left unsharpened for display, with optional hand engraving. The Blade of the Red Dragon.
