A fully functional gendaitō shinken by Taira (Hira) Sadashige, dated August 1943 (Showa 18). The blade has been recently polished (togimi) and presents a clean, bright surface with excellent activity. At 62.5 cm with a healthy 1.7 cm sori, the proportions are robust yet lively, giving confident handling for iaidō, battō and .

The hamon is an attractive midare pattern—an irregular wave combining rounded gunome elements in places with gentle notare undulation. It runs consistently from the base through the monouchi, showing a bright nioiguchi with fine internal activity under light. The well-defined ridge and ample motohaba 33.2 mm taper to a strong tip (sakihaba 24.6 mm), while a single mekugi-ana secures mounting.

The sword is housed in a sleek high-gloss black lacquer scabbard fitted with a tight, well-made habaki.
